Senior 3D Game Artist (Remote Contract)

Who are we looking for ?
We are looking for a talented 3D artist who is an expert in creating stylized models & textures of high quality that match the look & feel of our existing demo and new concept art.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Art Director & Concept Artist to bridge the stylistic gaps between 2D and 3D, collaborate to create 2D designs appropriate for 3D use and level building
  • Be the main force behind creating high quality stylized Models & Textures based on Concept Art and/or other guidelines.
  • Create 3D Environment Assets & Props that adhere to cleaver modularity methodologies with excellent polygonal & UV efficiency
  • Create temporary 3D Models as well as final assets
  • Optimize art assets to meet performance goals
  • Optional: Create Stylized 3D Characters with efficient edge loops for animation work when necessary
  • Import 3D assets from 3D software into Unity
  • Organize assets into manageable Unity hierarchy structures
  • Set and maintain high-quality standards for 3D across all boards
  • Be an active part of Daily Scrum meetings and weekly Sprint Demo & Planning

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Review, develop and maintain a 3D pipeline that is capable of recreating the games 2D Concept art in a Unity 3D environment
  • Adjust in-engine lighting to match mood & atmosphere requirements of art direction
  • Light Baking in Unity
  • Shader creation
  • Map baking
  • Create in-engine Particle Effects
  • R&D to introduce new methodologies that would all us to reach new highs when it goes to in-engine visual quality

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years experience in the game industry with at least one shipped title
  • Well defined traditional art skills (light, painting, composition etc.)
  • Advanced understanding of current game art pipelines and methodologies
  • Fluency and expertise in most important aspects of 3D Art creation (Texturing, Modeling, UV, Lighting)
  • Experience with both PC and Console art creation
  • Self-motivated & self-driven
  • Excellent English (verbal and written)

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Substance Painter and Substance Designer experience
  • Unity engine experience
  • Experience with Version Control software (git)

Additional Info

  • Job Type: Part/Full-time (minimum 24h per week)
  • Salary/Rate: Dependent on knowledge, skill and experience level
  • This is a minimum 6 months long term contract role but prefer to think of anyone joining us as a core team member for years to come
  • We are looking for candidates that can start immediately or very soon
